Undocumented Filipino Immigrant Detained

Jose Antonio Vargas, who is an undocumented Filipino immigrant, was detained on Tuesday morning at the Border Patrol checkpoint in airport, right before he was about to board a flight to Houston. He is said to be the most high profile leader, holding a special place in the hearts of similar undocumented immigrants in the nation. He has fought for the rights of immigrants several times, gaining a lot of trust for himself from people.

After being handcuffed, he was taken for the purpose of processing to McAllen Border Patrol station, one of the stations from where several undocumented immigrants from Central America have been caught.

According to Mr. Vargas, who is a Pulitzer winning journalist, President Obama will find it very difficult to handle the border situation as there is an entry of various people who are not authorized or documented to live in the nation.

Mr. Vargas currently travels on a Filipino passport and has no United States visa in it, at the moment. In an interview on Sunday, Mr. Vargas stated that he had been to a lot of events around the country during recent times where he portrayed a self produced documentary film called “Documented”, which has insights of his life as an undocumented immigrant.
