Classic Ferrari sold as the most expensive car, at an incredible price of $38.1 million

The classic 250 GTO, Ferrari was the first model of its style, which was sold in an auction for a price of $38.1 million. Many elite customers from the globe visited this auction and were amazed by the design.

The car was also involved in a fatal accident of Olympic skiing champion Henri Oreiller who was killed in 1962. Henri crashed the car while doing a 100mph in Paris.

No one hoped that this incident and loss, make up this amount of profit. The winner’s name of this car, who won the auction, is yet a secret, as he closed this bid on the call. The unknown winner had outbid an American Businessman – Bill Heinecke.

The car’s history and its beauty are the main reasons for the popularity

According to the chairman of the London-based Bonhams, “It’s been a genuine privilege to represent this outstanding car and we are absolutely delighted with today’s results. We’ve always maintained that we would exceed the current world record and that the car would bring between $30-$40-million and today the GTO did just that.”

The sale has set a world record for a car sold at nearly £ 23million, despite a tragic incident.
