Make a plastic home and a plastic phone with the help of solar energy

The team of researchers used transparent plastic for this invention. This creative plastic concentrator can be used to build buildings, manufacture phones and many such things.

Several attempts were made earlier about using LSC (Luminescent Solar Collecting) material,  but, the results was not up to the mark. The material was bright in color, thus not making it efficient for building a widespread area.

According to one of the researchers of the project – Richard Lunt, “No one wants to sit behind colored glass, It makes for a very colorful environment, like working in a disco. We take an approach where we actually make the luminescent active layer itself transparent.”

Lunt guarantees the durability of the material and assures the people for its cost affordability. He also added by saying; “It can be used in tall buildings with lots of windows or any kind of mobile device that demands high aesthetic quality like a phone or e-reader. Ultimately, we want to make solar harvesting surfaces that you do not even know are there.”

This is still a beginning of a new invention, and thus the pros and cons are yet to be cleared and specified more efficiently.
