According to the survey, Melbourne is the city to have the maximum sleep of 7 hours and 5 minutes. The cities to remain awake for the majority of the time are; Singapore, Tokyo and South Korea.
Singapore has very less hours of sleep, which is about 6 hours and 32 minutes, whereas, Tokyo beats the competition with only 5 hours and 46 minutes. South Korea is also in the list, where people sleep only for 5 hours and 55 minutes in a day.
The report of the collected data was published in the Wall Street Journal by Jawbone, who is known for their digitized wristbands of tracking sleep of its users.
Instead of a subject of discussion, this seems to be a matter of concern for the cities with lack of sleep, as per few health researchers. Sleep plays a vital role for a healthy life. It helps in the brain development and growth.
Sleep deficiency leads to irritability, mood swings, diabetes, obesity and gastric problems. Sleepless nights lead to restlessness throughout the day. The doctors believe that a person should have a minimum sleep of 7 to 8 hours a day and maximum 9 to 10 hours, to let the brain work at its best.
