Billions mean nothing to sustain Facebook

The internet text application, WhatsApp messenger was acquired by a Facebook company, at a cost of US$19 billion cash and stock, with 450 million active users. After acquiring WhatsApp, the aim of the Facebook company was to increase the number of users to one billion.

The sources revealed that the users of WhatsApp went up to 600 million last month. CEO – Mark Zuckerberg said; “I think WhatsApp is going to be the global text messaging platform. The more people who are connected to the Web, the more room Facebook has to grow. Even if Facebook has to spend billions of dollars over the next decade just to make it happen.”

Mark strongly believes that it is very important for more users to join internet text applications, as this leads to more business opportunities and more scope of advanced applications.

The WhatsApp has been a remarkable success and the increase in the number of users itself speaks the satisfaction. Needless to say that Facebook will very soon achieve its targeted number of 1 billion users.
