It is difficult to comment whether this news will be a good news or bad news for the Facebook users. But, it will surely be disturbing to know that someone is tracking your location. The ads on Facebook can track your personal data stored on Facebook and locate your current location.
Microsoft’s property – Atlas was bought by Facebook last year at a cost of about $US100 million and Facebook will start using it, from today. Atlas acts like a mobile network and tracks your movements, if you have the Facebook App stored on your mobile and Laptop.
Erik Johnson – The head of Atlas shared few words some time ago; “Cookies don’t work on mobile, are becoming less accurate in demographic targeting and can’t easily or accurately measure the customer purchase funnel across browsers and devices or into the offline world. The blog presents Atlas as the solution since it uses “people-based marketing.”
This is surely a good news for the advertisement agencies, however, the users don’t seem to be happy about this new feature, that will leave them with little privacy to its users.
