The doctors have always advised that people, who sit for long hours at work, are more prone to bad health effects. However, it was difficult to find an alternative solution to avoid the ill effects of sitting.
The research states that a short and quick five minute walk every hour being at work, can avoid the side effects of sitting. Saurabh Thosar who is a postdoctoral researcher stated; “There is plenty of epidemiological evidence linking sitting time to various chronic diseases and linking breaking sitting time to beneficial cardiovascular effects, but there is very little experimental evidence.”
Thosar’s findings added in the research by stating; “American adults sit for approximately eight hours a day. The impairment in endothelial function is significant after just one hour of sitting. It is interesting to see that light physical activity can help in preventing this impairment. ”
Walking has been considered the best and slowest forms of exercise that does not make a person tired. A little stretching and walking at work is always a good option to avoid any back pain problems.
