Users face high data charges due to Facebook’s auto load videos

Even if the users stop to watch the videos, while browsing through Facebook mobile, when you scroll past, the data charges will apply to your usage limit. This is not limited to just one country, but the problem is experienced throughout the globe by Facebook users.

The users stated; “We’ve seen many complaints from people who have been stung with data bills after exceeding their monthly allowance and who believe it to be because of Facebook autoplaying videos.”

The issue was faced and realized after the ice bucket challenge videos, that were populating the internet page. It is not wonder that the video helped to raise the awareness and in the increase of the amount of the donation. But, on the other hand, the users have ended up receiving huge bills of their data usage.

The solution to be relieved of this issue is stated below;

For Apple iOS devices: open the Settings application and then go to Facebook > Settings > Auto-play; and then select “Wi-Fi only” or turn the feature off completely.

For Android devices: go into the Facebook app itself and then open the Settings menu. Scroll down a little ways and you will see the “auto-play” option. Select “wi-fi only” or turn off the feature.

For computer users:  turn off auto-play on your computer by opening the settings on your Facebook page and making the relevant adjustments.
