Reporters from Associated Press have reported seeing as many as 80unmarked military vehicles on the move in the rebel controlled areas of Ukraine. There were three separate convoys consisting of transportation trucks were seen. Some of the vehicles also were carrying artillery systems of large and small calibers.

One of the convoy was seen near Donetsk which is considered one of the rebel strongholds. Incidentally, Donetsk airport has seen some of the heaviest fighting in the recent days. And the other two were seen outside Snizhne, which is 50 miles east of Donetsk. Recently, there were reports from Ukrainian officials that Russia has sent considerable amount of weapons to the rebel section. However, Russia denies the claims.

Even though there is a ceasefire in effect since September, there have been regular engagements between the rebels and Ukrainian troops. This statement was immediately followed by a rebel statement that they intend to expand their territory further.
