Nearly 1100 ISIS militants killed in the last 3 months

Ever since the United States joined the fight against Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, there has been good progress. According to a recent report by a monitoring group based in the UK, it has been revealed that nearly 1,100 IS militants have been killed by the US airstrikes in the past 3 months. This has been achieved because the United States carried out 488 tactical air strikes, according to the US military data. The total toll is at least 1,170 which consist of 52 civilians and 1,100 militants.

Ever since the ISIS influence started spreading, many people from across the world came in and joined them. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that majority of dead fighters included the overseas ones. Among the 52 civilians killed, children and women made up the majority.

Amidst all the killings, efforts are being carried out by the UN to find a diplomatic solution to the whole problem. The officials are trying to convene peace talk to move the mainstream opposition to a political transition, however the peace talks are not of much importance as the ISIS is not interested to talk.
