According to an official of the West African country, at least 25 people had lost their lives in an attack suspected to be an execution of Boko Haram on a community in Nigeria`s north eastern state of Borno early Saturday. An essential presidential election was been held on the same day.
As per the state governor Kashim Shettima told to Xinhua in Maiduguri the capital of the province, least five people had been wounded in the same attack at Burutai community, which is situated in the southern part of Borno.
After voting in Maiduguri, Shettima said, “I received report of the attack this morning and this attack is callous, wicked and cowardly,”
The extremists of Boko Haram had put in to motion several attacks on voters in the north east in which three people were put to death in Yobe state and three more in Gombe state, as said by the police officer.
Soon later at least eight people were put to death, in which includes the opposition parliamentary candidate for Dukku in Gombe. They were been killed by the gunmen who were not yet identified, as said by a spokesman for Buhari`s All Progressive Congress (APC).
