According to the authorities, a siege which began with the gunmen detonating a bomb and firing bullets in a hotel in Somalia had been put to end on early Saturday. In this siege at least 20 people had lost their lives and several others were injured.
As per the reporters, the gunmen attacked the hotel in Mogadishu on Friday evening. The attack continued for several hours.
As reported by the Somali`s government, among those who had lost their lives were, Yusuf Mohamed Ismail Bari-Bari, Somalia`s permanent representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.
The gunmen attempted the attack at about 5 p.m. local time when at the hotel`s entrance a car bomb had been exploded, as said by the witness Aden Hussein, according to him he was close to the place when the bomb exploded.
According to the Senior Police Officer Capt. Mohamed Hussein, the gun firing had ended and the security agents have attained the whole building. The gunmen were said to have accessed the third and fourth floors of the Maka Al Mukarramah hotel in the capital Mogadishu.
In February, al Shabab militants had attacked another hotel in Mogadishu in which at least 25 people had lost their lives.
