Suspect in On-Air Murder of Journalists Shoot Himself

According to Franklin County Sheriff Bill Overton told reporters, the suspect who put to death two WDBJ journalists lost his life on Wednesday at about 1:30 p.m. in the hospital due to self-inflicted gunshot wound.

As per the Virginia State Police said, two reporters of a local TV station`s news team were put to death on Wednesday when a gunman shot them during a live TV broadcast which was held near Roanoke, Va, setting off an intense manhunt that came to end when the suspect fatally shoot himself.

According to the general manager of WDBJ – TV, Jefferey Marks, the suspect was identified as Vester Flenagan, 41 year old and was a former employee who showed anger issues before being fired in 2013.

While working for WDBJ, Flanagan used the name Bryce Williams and he posted a video on his Facebook page which shows the shooting from the perspective of the shooter. In the video the gun and the victim, Alison Parker can be seen being put to death.

The shooing came in to action at about 6:45 a.m., at Bridgewater Plaza, a shopping center on Smith Mountain Lake, which is situated about 35 miles from Roanoke.
