Senior Al Qaeda Commander and 2 Other Fighters Lost Their Lives in Air Strike in Syria

According to the reporters, a top Al Qaeda commander and other two fighters had been put to death in an air strike in Syria, as said by the activists on Saturday. It had not been immediately clear who was behind the air strike, US led coalition or Russian warplanes.

As per the Britain based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Abdul Mohsen Abdallah Ibrahim al Charekh, a Saudi who was better known as Sanafi al Nasr had lost his life in an air strike which took place near the Syrian town of Dana. Along with him the other two fighters, a Saudi and a Moroccan member of Al Qaeda`s local affiliate, known as Nusrat Front had also been put to death.

Since September 30, air strikes have been carried out by the Russian warplanes in Syria. For not less than a year, the Nusra Front and the Islamic State group had been targeted by the US led coalition.

According to the Observatory which relies on a network of activists inside Syria, an Egyptian commander had escaped the bombing.

As per the jihadi activists said on social media, al Charekh had been put to death by a US drone strike.
