3 Police Officers Lost Their Lives in North Sinai Bombing

According to the reporters, not less than three police officers had lost their lives on Wednesday in a suicide car bomb attack in al Arish city in northern Sinai Peninsula.

As per the Interior Ministry officials, quoted by official news agency MENA, the car was exploded in front of the police officers` club in al Arish.

Also five policemen and at least five civilians had been injured in the bomb blast and were taken to the hospital.

The responsibility for the bomb blast had been claimed by the Wilayat Sinai, a branch of the terrorist group Islamic State, or IS.

The area had been cordoned off by the security forces. Some of the injured are in very critical condition.

Al Arish is about 44 miles north of where a Russian passenger plane was crashed on Saturday in which 224 people had lost their lives onboard. The cause of crash is still under investigation. The responsibility for the crash had been claimed by the Islamic State group, but had no evidence that it was behind the crash.

According to the President Abdel Fattah el Sissi, is under control, and the ISIS claims are propaganda aimed at damaging the Egypt`s image.
