According to the reporters, the groups of men had stabbed the two businessmen who had published the works of Avijit Roy, a Bangladeshi – American known for his critical writings on religious extremism, on Saturday in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, as said by the police. The attack came eight months after MR. Roy had stabbed himself to death with machetes.
As per police, Faisal Arefin Dipan, one of the publishers lost his life of his wounds immediately. Ahmed Rahim Tutul, the other one was in very critical condition late Saturday.
According to the Director of publicity for the Academic and Creative Publisher Association , Mizanur Rahman said in a telephone interview, that death threats were been received by Mr. Tutul over the books that were published by him.
As reported by Biplob Kumar Sarker, the Deputy Police Commissioner in Dhaka, the group of men arrived around 3 pm on Saturday and entered the Shuddhashar publishing house by saying that they came to buy the books.
One of the assailants attacked the publisher, Mr. Tutul, and two men who were present in the office, while the other held two men at gunpoint, said Mr. Sarker.
