According to the reporters, a fresh round of strikes had been staged by the US on Monday against Islamic State with 17 in Iraq and eight in Syria, as said in a statement by the Combined Joint Task Force
As per the statement released on Tuesday, the strikes near five Iraqi cities included seven near the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, which had targeted six tactical units and 12 fighting positions.
As said by the task force leading the operations, near Ramadi, six strikes hit two units as well as four weapons caches and two of the militant group`s buildings.
As reported, four Islamic State tactical units and a vehicle were been targeted by the four strikes near Mar`a in Syria. Other strikes took place near the Islamic State stronghold of Raqqa, al Hasakah and al Hawl targeting three tactical units, among other targets, it said.
On the other hand, as reported, in recent months, approximately 14% of the territory in Iraq and Syria had been lost by the Islamic State. Reports says that the group had lost 12,800 square kilometers of territory to Kurds of Iraq and Syria and some of it to the Iraqi forces in areas like Tikrit and Baiji.
