2 Suspected Been Arrested In Belgium for Plotting Terror Attacks

According to the reporters, two men had been detained by the Belgian authorities on suspicion of planning Islamic State inspired terror attacks in Brussels at the time of holidays, as said by the federal prosecutor`s office on Tuesday.

According to the prosecutor`s office, both the suspects were male, and they were been detained following the searches on Sunday and Monday in the Brussels area, the Liege region and Flemish Brabant. Their names and further information was not been disclosed by it.

As reported, one suspect had been charged with acting as the leader and recruiter of a terrorist group which was planning to commit terrorist offenses, while the other was charged with participating in a terrorist`s group activities as a principal actor.

During the searches, several things such as, military type training uniforms, propaganda materials from the Islamic State group and computer material had been seized and they all are being examined. They did not found any weapons or explosives, said the Prosecutor`s office.

It said that six people had been taken in for interrogation, but four of them had been released.

Their arrests had been connected to an alleged plot. It was to target many prominent sites in Brussels at the end of the New Year`s celebration.
