According to the reporters, not less than seven people had lost their lives after attackers detonated the suicide bombs and fired shots outside a Starbucks café in Jakarta in an assault that said by police as imitated the Paris attacks and had been linked to the Islamic State group.
The attack took place on a busy street in front of the Sarinah shopping complex, an aging mall that was once popular with the tourists looking for batik shirts or cheap Indonesian knick knacks.
In the morning, a bomb was been exploded by a man inside a café at the mall as a late morning crowd sipped their coffees. The bomber was killed by the explosive device and caused panic among the patrons, who fled outside where the two gunmen had been waiting and they started fire on them, said the police. As per police, a Canadian man had been struck and put to death. His identity had not yet been disclosed.
Later, more devices were been exploded by two more suicide bombersat a small police traffic post at the nearby intersection of busy Jalan Thamrin and Jalan Wahid Hasyim, said police. The bombers lost their lives and at least one officer was been wounded, said the police.
