According to the reporters, after cutting off his wife`s nose in northern Faryab province of Afghanistan, the man had escaped to a Taliban held area, as said by the local officials on Monday.
As per the provincial Police Chief Syed Aqa Andarabi, the incident occurred late on Sunday in Ghormach district.
According to the spokesman for the Faryab police, Sayed Massoud Yaqubi, the woman named, Reza Gul, aged 20 years old, had been attacked by her husband with a knife on Sunday in Shar Shar, a village in an impoverished and Taliban controlled part of Faryab Province. Reza Gul was in stable condition on Tuesday in a hospital in Maimana, the provincial capital, said Yaqubi.
According to the doctor, Maroof Samar, a doctor who is the acting director of public health in Faryab, Reza Gul was been in a very critical condition at the time when she was been brought inside the hospital. She had lost much of his blood.
Reza Gul and her husband, Muhammed Khan, 25 years old, had been married since last six years. Her family members had been regularly abusing her, beating her and binding her in chains.
