According to the reporters, not less than 13 people had lost their lives when three out of five female suicide bombers yesterday entered Chibok on its weekly market day detonated themselves, the town where Boko Haram gunmen kidnapped over 300 schoolgirls about two years ago.
As per a rescue team leader, Hassan Chibok, at least 13 bodies had been found during the rescue operation in Chibok town. The death toll may increase afterwards. At least 28 others had been injured.
It had not been immediately cleared, whether the death figures included the bombers.
As said by the security officers, the other two suspected suicide bombers, which are yet to be detained, immediately fled the scene.
According to the witness identified as Manasseh Hassan, one of the bombers had exploded an improvised explosive device right inside a local market. Whereas another bomber detonated himself up at a security checkpoint, hitting a soft target and the third bomber exploded his improvised explosive device near the same market.
The responsibility for the attack had not yet been claimed by any of the group, but the attack is said to be similar to others claimed by Boko Haram.
