Women’s British open won by Thailand’s Ariya Jutanugarn

According to the reporters, Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand, had marked her name in the history books on Sunday as she became the first Thai golfer to win a major when she triumphed at the Women`s British Open.

Tough competition had been faced by Ariya from South Korea`s Mirim Lee to win by three strokes at the Woburn Golf Club and claim her fourth LPGA Tour title of the year.

20 Year old Ariya the big hitting Thai made amends at Woburn. She entered the final round holding a two shot lead and a closing level par 72 left her three clear of the field on 272, 16 under.

After receiving her price, she said, “My mother cried at the end, she said thank you and that made my day. I think this victory is really important for me and Thai golf and I hope I can inspire some players in Thailand.”

Ariya was only 11 year old when she played her first LPGA Tour event. She started yesterday`s back nine with a four shot lead.

Ariya would head to the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro after having accomplishes her dream of winning a major title full of confidence and with the belief that winning a gold medal will definitely be more of a reality than a dream.
